Residency & lifestyle
Ten tokens.
One European address.
For non-EU investors, a €330,000 position in Foctok does two things at once: it takes a 10% economic interest in a working charter fleet, and it meets the investment threshold for Cyprus permanent residency under Regulation 6.2.
How it works
What the status actually gives you.
Four questions, answered plainly. All four panels open independently - read them in any order.
Cyprus Regulation 6.2 grants permanent residency on the basis of a qualifying investment in the Cypriot economy. A subscription for ten foctokens - €330,000 into a Cyprus limited company that owns and commercially operates a real fleet - is structured to satisfy that threshold.
This is the same instrument every other holder buys, on the same terms. There is no separate residency share class, no premium, and no reduction in economic rights. The residency benefit is a consequence of the vehicle's domicile and the size of the position, not a separate product.
The status is permanent and lifelong - it is not a renewable multi-year permit that lapses. It extends to the applicant's immediate family: spouse and dependent children.
Maintaining it requires no relocation and no minimum stay. The single obligation is to visit Cyprus at least once every two years. For an investor whose life and business sit elsewhere, that is the entire ongoing commitment.
Permanent residency is not citizenship. It is, however, the recognised first step toward it: after eight years of legal residency in Cyprus, an applicant becomes eligible to apply for naturalisation, and therefore for an EU passport.
Naturalisation carries its own conditions - including physical presence requirements that permanent residency alone does not impose - and is granted at the discretion of the Cypriot authorities. It is a pathway, not an entitlement, and anyone investing primarily for that outcome should take specialist immigration advice before subscribing.
The residency programme is a benefit, not the reason. Cyprus was chosen because it is an EU member state with a mature legal framework for tokenized securities, an established maritime and yacht-management sector, and one of the union's most favourable corporate and dividend tax regimes.
That combination matters more to a token holder than the passport does: it means the vehicle is regulated inside the EU rather than offshore, that distributions are efficient at the company level, and that the asset register and cap table sit in a jurisdiction an investor's own counsel can actually read.
Lifestyle
You own part of a fleet. You may as well use it.
Foctok holders receive access to the Focus yacht club membership programme - the same network the fleet's own vessels are marketed through. It is the part of yacht ownership that people actually want, decoupled from the part that costs money.
- Holder access across the network. Preferential access to Focus club vessels in Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Mallorca, Ibiza, the Adriatic and Miami - not only the six Foctok hulls.
- Use the fleet you part-own. Charter a Foctok Forza 37 in any of its four markets on holder terms, booked through the local operator.
- No berth, no crew, no winter. Membership carries none of the fixed cost of ownership - no marina contract, no crew payroll, no laying-up bill in November.
- Owner events and new-model access. Invitations to Focus launches and owner gatherings, and early sight of new hulls as the shipyard releases them.
Club access is a membership benefit extended to holders and is not a guaranteed usage right. Availability is subject to the charter calendar in each market - a vessel booked by a paying client is a vessel earning for the fleet, and revenue takes priority. Holder terms, booking windows and any applicable charges are set out in the membership documentation supplied with the information pack.
Tax context
Efficient at the company level.
Cyprus operates one of the European Union's most favourable regimes for holding and operating companies, which is a material part of why the SPV is domiciled there rather than in a higher-tax member state or an offshore jurisdiction with no EU standing.
What that means for a holder in practice depends entirely on where that holder is tax resident. Two investors buying identical positions can face materially different outcomes on the same distribution.
Before you subscribe
Foctok does not provide tax, legal or immigration advice, and nothing on this site should be relied on as such. Prospective investors should put the following in front of their own advisers:
- Treatment of distributions and the annual token burn in your country of tax residence.
- Whether a security token position qualifies under Regulation 6.2 given your own nationality and circumstances.
- Reporting obligations arising from holding a foreign security token.
- Naturalisation conditions, if the eight-year pathway is part of your reason for investing.
